We’re seeing a rise in design that emphasizes craft and process, and this packaging design captures that shift beautifully.
For Stauning Gin, Within Design Studio creates a system that translates traditional Danish printmaking into a spirits identity full of texture and discovery. The outer box features a grid of hand-painted green forms that resemble carved woodblock prints, where imperfect edges and layered tones give the artwork an ink-pressed quality. This pattern draws from Nordic craft traditions. The typography adds a sense of contrast against the expressive pattern, and the color palette leans into natural greens paired with soft off-white paper tones.
What makes this design stand out in the gin category is its balance of craft and experimentation, stepping away from the usual botanical illustrations and embracing a more artistic visual language.
The Danish distillery Stauning has launched a new gin designed to sit alongside its well-known whisky range while exploring a more playful approach to flavor and creativity.
Stauning has built a strong reputation for its grain-to-glass whisky, produced with patience, precision, and a distinctly Danish perspective on craft and design. The introduction of gin offers the distillery an opportunity to explore experimentation and a lighter, more curious side of its craft.
The launch is centred on a platform called The Art of Great Taste. The concept reflects a balance between craftsmanship and creativity and draws on Danish design principles where structure and play exist in quiet harmony.
Across packaging, visual identity, launch activations, and brand experiences, the project creates a cohesive system that extends the Stauning brand world and expresses a more exploratory spirit.

The visual language takes inspiration from traditional Danish printmaking, creating artwork that feels tactile, structured, and layered. Each element has been designed to encourage discovery, from the bottle and campaign visuals to social content, retail displays, and experiential moments.
The release marks a new chapter for Stauning, staying rooted in craft while embracing curiosity and continuing to pursue great taste.
